Manager of Product Management

Job Position

This leadership position has responsibility for end-to-end management of the ONYX suite of products and services.  A software product background with proven success in bringing them to market is essential.  The ideal candidate resides in Salt Lake City, Utah and has experience identifying and evaluating software market trends, creating detailed product descriptions and roadmaps, working closely with worldwide development teams, and can commercialize software products for the wide-format print market.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Become the ONYX product evangelist, both internally and externally, to grow the ONYX brand and worldwide reputation within the wide-format industry
  • Lead a team of international product managers with a focus on their professional development, coaching, planning, directing assignments, appraising performance, and maximizing the contribution of each product manager
  • Ability to manage a product portfolio from business concept to phasing out of the product(s), management of existing product lines, while increasing the marketability and the commercial viability of each product line
  • Develop each product manager’s ability to become an effective product owner. This includes their active participation in the Scrum meetings and backlog management.  Developing strong professional relationships with product engineering is essential
  • On-going development and ownership of the company’s multiyear product vision, mid-term product strategy and specification of individual product requirements
  • Leads product management team in building consensus with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing & operations) in the development and execution of tactical go to market plans, meeting agreed-upon timelines with a keen attention to detail
  • Develop an expert’s knowledge of ONYX products and the wide-format market. Analyze and keep abreast of market trends in order to make data-driven decisions
  • Aggressively identify opportunities for product/process improvement and incorporate new functionality on an on-going basis
  • Best practice research and benchmarking. Conduct competitive analysis and develop a strong understanding of their products to drive better development decisions
  • Develop and manage business relationships with sales, resellers, end customers, and technology partners


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3 – 5 years of product management experience
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills
  • Experience in technology development processes, including Agile Software Development
  • Experience with client-facing requirement gathering and development of use cases
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, and hiring, training, developing, supervising and appraising personnel
  • Unwavering attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic, focus and set priorities within tight timelines and be resourceful under pressure, stretching hours to complete tasks
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally; 20% of time
  • Previous wide format software background is a plus


International Marketing/Communications Specialist


Job Summary

This is an entry-level position that will focus on the delivery of external and internal communications within a global market. The second of two internal marketing positions, your main responsibilities will be to search the company’s intended audience in segmented international markets with a think global, act local approach.

Main responsibilities

  • Assist in PR and Marketing communications with ONYX customers and vendors globally
  • Ensure corporate style and branding guidelines are met on all internal and external sales and promotional items
  • Help create online help content for global customer base
  • Organize management conference, executive meetings, support regional event requests, assist with tradeshows and special events as assigned
  • Assist with and complete annual media planning and advertising buys under the direction of management
  • Assist with writing and editing of promotional literature, press releases, newsletters, direct marketing and internet marketing projects as assigned
  • Assist marketing management with corporate website to update page content as needed
  • Marketing database update and cleaning for appropriate communication and reporting using CRM and Email marketing solutions
  • Under the direction of management, develop content for marketing campaigns and report on the results of those campaigns
  • Establish and build media relationships globally and assist in establishing Press related events as well as realize opportunities to broaden awareness and understanding of the Onyx Graphics brand and product portfolio
  • Search for and collect press coverage globally to grow brand awareness in keeping with company guidelines.
  • Assist and maintain authorized strategic campaigns for social media
  • Special projects as required


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, PR or a related field
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Marketing, Communications, PR or related field
  • Must have a wide range of experience and understanding of the marketing mix including product positioning
  • Experience with the Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premier
  • Experience with B2B versus B2C marketing a plus
  • Experience with nurture campaigns a plus
  • Experience with online help reference guides and technical writing a plus

  • Basic HTML Comprehension
  • Familiarity with WordPress, iContact and Salesforce preferable
