Product Manager I

Job Summary

In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for expanding our software portfolio to provide greater production/business benefits to wide format printing customers.  You will be the visionary to build products from existing ideas, investigate third party technology, and develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with wide format customers and prospects. Your previous experiences will enable you to commercialize these new products with an effective go to market plan that can be implemented in our worldwide reseller channel.  Work with marketing to develop an international messaging platform utilizing traditional and online communications tools.  You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make this vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems and find innovative solutions for the broader market.

Effective communication with all areas of the company is vital to your success. You will work with the engineering teams to define product requirements and release timelines. You will help the three regional general (sales) managers understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customers and they will assist you in developing regional launch strategies.  You will be the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working with the distribution channel, industry insiders, media and key strategic customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
  • Develop product pricing and positioning strategies
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business opportunity and customer impact
  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
  • Drive product launches including working with other product managers, marketing, sales, customer support, operations and training
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding, and clearly communicate the product vision and goals
  • Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services
  • Lead and participate in planning meetings and provide advice and guidance on the direction of products
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products, solutions, and company offerings
  • Interact and communicate with global partners


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • 1-3 years of product management or other relevant experience
  • Extra attention given for large-format specific print production knowledge and experience
  • Ability to be creative, strategic, analytical, and think outside the box to solve problems
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Interpersonal skills with a keen ability to explain complex concepts across the organization and to large audiences
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • The position resides in our Salt Lake City headquarters and you must be willing and able to travel 25% of the time; both domestic and international

Technical Support Representative I

Job Summary

The ONYX Technical Services Technician will be primarily responsible for phone and email support, testing and troubleshooting issues and following up with clients for clarification and resolution on submitted issues.  You will interact with colleagues from every department of the company. ​​​​ You will be expected to become an expert on ONYX Products and their functionality as well as to expand your expertise in the wide-format printing industry.​​

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support via phone and email
  • Escalate complex issues to Research and Development
  • Log all incoming calls and emails by entering accurate and detailed case notes in a call tracking database
  • Use a hands-on approach to customer problem solving
  • Document troubleshooting procedures used
  • Maintain contact with customers on open issues based on established guidelines
  • Search and retrieve data from various internal and external sources
  • Participate in training activities to maintain and improve technical competence, and to broaden product knowledge
  • Represent the company in a positive manner in all communications
  • Conduct training sessions as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Excellent written and spoken language skills
  • History of delivering quality technical solutions in a timely manner in accordance with established guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to interpret customer problems, research available resources, and apply solutions to software/hardware issues
  • Ability to identify the level of customer’s technical knowledge and adjust problem-solving communications accordingly
  • Ability and willingness to clearly document problem issues and resolutions
  • 2 Year Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • General troubleshooting skills for Windows 7, 8 and 10 including permissions and device drivers
  • Basic knowledge of communications protocols including TCP/IP
  • Experience with Adobe products including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Territory Sales Manager

Job Description

The Territory Sales Manager is primarily responsible for contributing to sales growth by achieving sales targets within a defined geographical area. The area for this position is in the mid-west. The final candidate will need to reside in the Chicago metro area.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Channel Management Sales responsibility
  • Achieve the assigned revenue quota sold into all customer segments. Establish an environment and foundation for future sales growth with identified regional territory and key channel partners
  • With the full portfolio of ONYX products and services, develop and implement an optimal market/sales plan for specified dealers/distributors, direct customers or market segments
  • Known as the product/market expert, deliver on-site sales training programs for the reseller channel to ensure they are capable of selling ONYX solutions and the value to the end-user
  • Build/maintain rapport with existing channel partners with joint end-user visits, product demos, product evaluations and open house activities that promote ONYX products. Always be investigating potential new partners
  • Implement HQ-developed tactical quarterly promotions to achieve sales results. Provide business reviews and YTD revenue/portfolio data against budget for at least your top five partners
  • Develop expertise on the full ONYX portfolio to the point of being able to fully demonstrate and become an external spokesperson/consultant for these products and services
  • Regularly schedule end customer visits with and without reseller sales representatives and vendor partners to promote ONYX products, stay current on end-user requirements and local competitive actions
  • Provide voice of the customer (VOC) requirements to product management
  • Develop knowledge on the top five competitors, maintaining a database of information on their products and strategy
  • Manage special projects as identified by regional GM


  • Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience
  • Sales experience
  • Travel is expected to be at least 60% of the time, prioritize time effectively and in accordance with company sales objectives
  • Achievement of annual sales target
  • Jointly develop annual sales/marketing plans with top five resellers/distributors with quarterly reviews to share results and jointly develop tactical sales and marketing actions
  • Meets territory sales objectives by forecasting 30-day sales results, prepare an annual budget, manage business expenses within budget, and initiate corrective actions to achieve annual goal
  • Good understanding of the wide-format print production marketplace to include printers, competitive rips, workflow, and how end-users use this product
  • Develop business relationships with WF printer and media manufacturer sales reps and local marketing personnel in your designated markets.
