Installation and Use for Online Systems

Use the following steps to install ONYX AutoUpdate and update a system which has internet connectivity:

1. Double-click the AutoUpdate.exe file to install the AutoUpdate application.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the EULA and click I Accept.

3. Enable the Check for New Updates option and click Next.

4. Click Options in the main AutoUpdate dialog to open the Options dialog.

5. Configure the options as follows:

a. Enable the Update System Automatically checkbox.
b. Set AutoUpdate to check for updates as desired.
c. Use the drop-down menu to select the desired Language.

6. Click Done to return to the main AutoUpdate dialog.

7. On the main AutoUpdate dialog, click Next to open the Registration Dialog.

8. Register your key by entering the required information and click Next.

9. AutoUpdate will determine if there are any updates available for your system. Click Next to download and apply the updates.

10. Click Finish to close the AutoUpdate dialog.

Installation and Use for Offline Systems

Use the following steps to install ONYX AutoUpdate and update a system which does NOT have internet connectivity:

1. Download the AutoUpdate.zip on a system which has internet connectivity (this does not have to be the computer on which your ONYX 6.0 product is running).

2. On the same system, download the offline update file listed at the bottom of the AutoUpdate web page here.

3. Burn both the AutoUpdate.exe and the .iou update file to a disc or place it on a network drive. Be sure that you can access the .iou file from the ONYX 6.0 RIP system.

4. Next, on the ONYX 6.0 RIP system, double-click the AutoUpdate application to begin the install.

5. Scroll to the bottom of the EULA and click I Accept.

6. Once AutoUpdate has installed completely, enable the Check for Updates option and click Next.

7. When AutoUpdate indicates that there is not a valid internet connection, click Work Offline and then Add Source to open the Sources dialog and configure as follows:

a. Remove any entries in the Online Source field.
b. In the Offline Source area, click Add New Source to open the Offline Source dialog.
c. Within the Offline Source field, type the path for the .iou file you downloaded in step 2 and click Done. This causes AutoUpdate to check the offline source for updates instead of the online source.
d. Click Done again to save your source changes and return to the main AutoUpdate dialog.

8. In the main AutoUpdate dialog, click Options to open the Options dialog and use the drop-down menu to select the desired Language.

9. Click Done to return to the main AutoUpdate dialog.

10. On the main AutoUpdate dialog, click Next and AutoUpdate will determine if there are any updates available for your system.

11. Click Next to download and apply the updates.

12. Once AutoUpdate applies the appropriate updates, click Finish to close the AutoUpdate dialog.

AutoUpdate requires the following settings in order to update your system:

• Internet Explorer 6.0 sp1 or higher
• Port 21 open to access IP address 64.78.193.6
• Port 80 open to access www.onyxgfx.com
• .Net version 1.1
