Dear ONYX Graphics,
After receiving my ONYX RIPCenter for Windows today at 2:30 p.m., I installed
it on my system, took a quick look at the multimedia tutorial CD, opened Photoshop,
reduced a 4 Megapixel image down to a 4 x 6 inch image (at 300 dpi), RIP'ed
it, and printed the most beautiful 24 x 36 inch image I could ever imagine.
I had never used a RIP before in my life. ONYX RIPCenter is Fantastic!
While I know how to use computers, I'm new to the large-format printing gig.
In fact, I learned only last Friday (a week ago) that I would need a RIP for
the printer I'd just bought (a new Epson Stylus Pro 7600). This speaks to the
ease with which your software installs and runs AND makes absolutely freaky-good
prints.
Within 30 minutes of installation, I had a beautiful print that so far exceeded
my expectations that I'm beside myself right now (yes, the printer has a lot
to do with it, but without the RIP, what've you got?). This is everything and
so much more that I was hoping to get from spending $3,000 on a printer and
then having to buy the RIP. And the fact that I saved $800 over the Fiery RIP
2 means more $$$ to buy media and ink! ONYX RIPCenter is the perfect solution
for amateur photographers like me who want high quality with a reasonable amount
of money and effort.
Everything you told me over the phone was accurate. In fact, you may have done
the absolute perfect thing in not over-promising (I develop and sell educational
software and I know how important it is to not over-sell), even though you certainly
represented your product in a way that any sales manager and CFO would be proud
of.
Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. Lastly, the idea of having
three levels of your product really makes sense. It's kind of the BMW model:
3, 5, and 7 series clearly defines what you're getting.
Regards,
Kevin M. Connors
